Ever hears someone sanctimonious (oftentimes your parents or boss) tell you never to make the same mistake again? I mean pretty fairly easy to say but very hard to do. Even if we are self-consciously trying to avoid them. So here, I have listed a few methods which can help you never to commit the same mistake again.
Every time you make a mistake, write it down and fill it in with the details — the nature of the mistake, what went wrong, what should you have done about it. Writing down your mistakes can be hard because you have to admit your failure. But you’re bound to remember it more if it’s written. You have to acknowledge the mistake so you’ll recognize future situations which might lead to the same mistake so you can be wiser this time.
Question your decisions. Make a habit out of validating the decision you make. People who spend considerable time mulling over their decisions are bound to be more cautious. On the other hand, people who are used to careless decisions are bound get in trouble more often. There is no guarantee that all your decisions will go fine after careful analysis, but it’s important that you can rationalize your choice.
Be open to changing yourself. I used to have a colleague who’s just hopeless. Whenever he finishes a project, chances are, there’s always major error. It’s hopeless because we never saw see any improvement on his performance. This happens when a person refuses to change because he looks at change as a negative thing. Don’t be like this. Nobody is perfect. But you can help yourself improve if you acknowledge the things about yourself where you need improvement.

1The same mistake can be caused by different things so it’s not so much the mistake itself you want to avoid and learn from, but what caused the mistake. Learning from your mistakes should be a positive experience that helps you to grow and evolve. Unfortunately many workplaces focus on them as though they are personal flaws. When it’s like that it’s difficult to find the motivation to learn anything.

3I’ve always heard that successful people make decisions fast, stick with them, and change them slowly, if at all. Seems to be the opposite of this advice. But I can see why it is important to be cautious with your decisions. Just not too cautious (=
