Some of us might think that we don’t have the time or resources to get a toned and slimmer figure. There are actually a lot of ways to go about losing weight. We just have to be smarter and more dedicated in order to be successful about it.

Count fiber grams together with calories. This strategy makes you more concerned with complying with your daily fiber requirement. It makes you keep your mind of trying to keep yourself from going over your calorie limit. You get to eat healthier foods rich in fiber which also happen to have lower fat and calories.

Get more intense. Studies show that shorter and more intense workouts burn more calories than longer moderate ones. So instead of doing a 30-minute walk, jog for a couple of seconds after every minute or two. Or when climbing the stairs, try to increase your speed at certain intervals. You don’t have to be on the gym for this. Think of ways where you can up the intensity level when you do your household chores.

Instead of sitting around while talking on the phone, walk around your house or office area. If you’re feeling a little sleepy sitting in your office table, stand up and walk around for a few minutes.

If you’re too tired in the evening to do workouts, do some gentle exercises such as stretching. You’ll be productive even during your relaxation time because you’re burning calories instead of just sitting around.

Eat high-protein foods for a week. Studies show that a high-protein diet results in faster weight loss over a short time. So eat foods that are high in protein for a week to gain momentum before moving on to a more balanced diet in the succeeding weeks. And remember, a limited sugar and fat intake is still the best way to go to achieve better results.
