Finally! The one thing I’ve been waiting for in Gmail Chat! If you’re a Gmail Chat user and would want to hide from those pesky contacts, you can now use the invisible mode.
Before this, I just opted to sign out of Gmail Chat and leave it that way. I do have some annoying people in my contacts list and I’d rather IM my friends using another client than deal with those people. And finally this invisible mode gives me more flexibility. I can now lurk and just privately message other people without getting seen by others.
Perhaps a further refinement to this would be selective visibility - probably one of my most favorite features of Yahoo! Messenger. I do want to appear visible to some people and invisible to some especially if deleting annoying people from my contacts list is not an option.
