Pregnancy is a very vulnerable state. That’s why a few months before the baby is due, a mom’s got to take some time off to make sure she is ready for what’s coming. When you’ve taken your maternity leave and you’ve found yourself with nothing to do except to wait for the labor day, you can make a pregnancy and birth plan. This is an organized schema and list on how things should be so you can give birth without the unnecessary hassles.

Of course you have already marked your calendar. You already have an idea which week you’re going to the hospital. But the little things you’ve forgotten about like aside from your husband, who should attend to you? Now is the best time to think about that. List down the people you want to be with you when the day comes and call them. Tell them you expect them to be there to help you out.

Which hospital do you want to be taken to? During the emergency, the tendency is to take you to the nearest hospital. But since you have time, you can plan on it. If you have a preference, you still have to consider the distance. So if the hospital you want is closer to your parent’s house than your own home, why not consider moving to your parent’s a few weeks before your due?

Would you want any pain relievers? Choices would be massage, medication, or various kinds of therapy. List down what you prefer so that your husband will know what you need when you need it.
And probably of course the most practical and the most important is knowing what you’re going to name the baby. Family and friends who’ll come to visit will be suggesting about a hundred names if you don’t know yet what you’re naming your baby. And you know how noisy this can get, and how you wouldn’t be able to stand it because you’ll be needing a peaceful period to rest.
