Colds

We’ve sent probes to outer space. Found more efficient ways to bomb each other. Even cloned a darned sheep. But we still haven’t found a cure for the common cold. Tsk. Anyway, as the old folk still say, prevention is better than cure. So instead of having to tie your self down to a bed suffer from watery eyes, nasal congestion, sneezing and that darned runny nose, it’s a lot better for you to not have a cold at all.

Colds are caused by any one of the rhinoviruses

Avoid people with colds like the plague. Okay, I exaggerate. But yes, colds can spread like a plague. So it’s best to avoid someone who has it. An infected person’s sneeze can easily disperse the little buggers in the air. One “fresh” breathe of air is what it all takes for you go down with the program too.

Wash your filthy hands. Colds can be transmitted too through contact with contaminated objects like door knobs, hand rails, elevator buttons… Wash up and scrub with soap and warm water until you finish singing “Happy Birthday”. Or always carry some hand sanitizer with you.

Keep your hands to yourself and in your pockets. Avoid touching your eyes, mouth and nose as they are the passageways to cold heaven.

Eat your veggies. And take them vitamins. Building up your body’s immune system is a good way to keep them buggers off of your system. Stress is also a major factor in the weakening of your immune system so better get plenty of rest too. Exercise.
