The office need not be the place where all your stress is made. And work doesn’t have to translate to anxiety. I for one, can’t help feeling jealous whenever I meet a colleague who enjoys work as life itself. I wish to have that kind of vitality because a worker who loves his work is always ahead.

Anxiety is normal is the workplace. This is because we acknowledge a set of expectations which we strive to meet. These expectations are broken down into little pieces like deadlines, reports, meetings, etc. How do you cope with anxiety so you can be at your best?

Presentations are among the most stressful work activities. Anyone can easily get tense over the idea of speaking in front of an audience. During the day of your presentation, eat a hearty breakfast so your systems will be up and ready for action.

When in corporate parties, know how to socialize like a pro. The goal is always to meet the most number of VIPs which you can add to your network. Your best weapon is good conversation.

Meetings are opportunities for you to shine. Don’t be scared to voice out your suggestions and contribute! Remind the bosses again that you are an asset.

If you find yourself a bit stiff before the presentation, steal a few minutes and find yourself a quiet corner (try the washroom cubicle) where you can do deep breaths and psyche yourself up. Turn your anxiety into excitement by remembering what you can gain if you make it good. A better chance at promotion? A more improved performance evaluation? Maybe!
