Depressed

People get sad for so many reasons; and sometimes, for no reason at all. It’s the nature of the human emotion to go through bouts of depression sometimes. But the problem is when you take these bouts for granted. We don’t recommend that you hastily go to a therapist, but you should nonetheless definitely treat it seriously after you analyze your depression case.

Depression has many types. It can vary from being irritable to major cases such as when it compels you to not function at all. If you find yourself having a hard time getting out of bed, having no appetite, and spacing out most of the time, you might be depressed. These feelings of depression are manifested when as a result, you forget to look after things you’re supposed to look after such as you can’t keep up with homework, or you stopped talking to people. Analyze your depression to see if you need to seek treatment before it becomes chronic.

Know yourself. It’s important for you to be able to tell if you are suffering from a serious case of depression. In general, these symptoms render you dysfunctional – like if you’re finding it hard to concentrate/focus or if you keep forgetting things – when you’re usually efficient. Symptoms can also be self-destructive – like if you keep getting frustrated easily or worse, if you start having suicidal thoughts. See a doctor to help you get back on track.
