Everyone of us loves to store fun memories because we want to look at them every once in a while to remember good times. One of the most fun ways to preserve memories is by making a scrapbook. Here’s how to get started.
Go to a supplies store and ask for their scrapbooking section. Most big stores have them now because scrapbooking has become a hobby of a lot of people. That also means there’s a huge stock and variety of cut-outs and other trimmings you can use to accessorize your book. Unless of course you want to make everything yourself then you can go ahead and let your creativity go wild.
Or, to save on money, look around you and see if there’s anything in the house which you can recycle. Look for glitters, nice patterns, buttons, sequins, old gift wrappers, and even some magazines. You might be surprised at the amount of stuff you can re-use for this new project.
Categorize your pictures according to events. You have hundreds of pictures and it’s probably confusing you how you’re going to lay them out. Depending on the size of your scrapbook, choose pictures which are closest to your heart and just add more if you still have pages.
Make good captions. A good picture should have a good caption. Go for sincere things or quotes which add meaning to the picture.
Don’t force yourself to finish your book in one day. Making a scrapbook should be a very pleasurable experience so just have fun pasting each picture and take your time thinking of the best words. It might take you weeks to finish it and it’s ok because you’re never going to run short of new and scrapbook-worthy memories.
