This month, all travels should be for leisure. That’s what December is for–you just have to get out of your run-of-the-mill anxiety-filled life. Unlike your other trips, going out of town for the holidays should be fun and relaxing. Take a look at these suggestions on how you can make your holiday travel as breezy as you can.

Travel lightly. Flying is cheaper when you have a small luggage. Keep your stuff at the minimum and don’t bring those which you’re not even sure you’ll use. For example, if you plan to shop for outfits where ever it is you’re going, then don’t bring too many clothes because you can wear those you bought.

Don’t forget to not wrap your presents. Yes, it would be stressful to wrap your presents after you arrive but remember that the airport security checks everything. Bringing your wrapped gifts at the airport is just going to be trouble.

Always bring extra cash. If you’re good with sticking to your budget, then there’s no danger of spending the extra cash you’re bringing for emergency purposes. As long as you separate the trip allowance from the contingency fund, you won’t drain it all.

Keep your cell phone fully charged. It’s important to have your phone charged because you may have to call people if you got lost or if you forgot something. Also, you have to make sure you have your kids’ numbers on speed dial because you might lose them at the airport.

Give everyone addresses and important phone numbers. Make sure to give those you’re traveling with copies of your destination and emergency hotlines. We all hope it’s going to be a fun flight, but it’s still better to be ready for anything.
