Winner

Have you ever seen successful people? Have you noticed that they have this sort of presence, an aura even, that just sends out that “I’m a winner” vibe? In the workplace, it does help to act like a winner. Bosses can spot those people who have that aura that they can seen as infectious to the organization. Who knows? Just by the way you act, you can even land that promotion.

Word hard, work fast, work great. Definitely, starting to look like a winner would start from your performance as a worker. By enhancing the quality of your work and getting to your work goals, you can create trophy memories that you can always go back to and revel in the success.

Expand your knowledge. Ever wonder why some of these “winners” can just go on and on about something and be the center of any conversation? It’s because these people have not only grown to be good in what they do, they also try to learn more beyond what they’re supposed to know. Read the paper. Browse the web. You’d be amazed that simple trivia can amaze everyone in your own conversation circle.

Dress and act to impress. You might be working hard but you might be stressing yourself out to the point that you already look like a wreck - hair disheveled and suit askew. Always wear a clean and crisp shirt or suit. Stand up straight, stomach in, and chest out. Act like you belong. Avoid gawking, slouching, and whispering.

Be confident. Gaining confidence is rarely a one-step process. But if you get to be good at what you do, get to know a lot of things, and get to look sharp and presentable, confidence might just come naturally. Start by looking people in the eye. Take the lead in the conversation (but pay attention to their responses and non-verbal cues). Say things as if you really mean it.

Avoid pretension. There will definitely be adjustments to your lifestyle but do the adjustment gradually. If you overdo this process of change, people would find you pretentious, obnoxious, and annoying. And being regarded all these would even turn you more to being regarded as a loser. So just pace yourself and stay positive. Being a winner doesn’t just mean regarding everyone else as losers.
