It’s said that we usually use only a small percentage of our brain. And you to think you often feel drained of good ideas. Our brain directs everything we do (although sometimes the things we do suggest otherwise) and therefore, one cannot downplay the importance of keeping the brain active and fully functional. Unstimulated brain cells can actually be bad. Aside from the usual good habits like regular exercise and a healthy diet, there are more things you can do to keep your brain in its healthy state.
Get into activities to keep the brain working. Do you like puzzles or trivia? The brain likes to think so even though your exam is a month away, give your brain something to chew on even if it’s just as easy as word games. If you have a Nintendo DS, try those puzzle games like Brain Age and WordJong.
Eat brain food. There are a lot of food which can supply you antioxidants for your brain cells. You also have to drink lots of water because you need good circulation, especially if you’re sick or if you’re doing exercise. One of the most important things you can do is to never skip your breakfast. Breakfast should be high in protein, and low in carbohydrates and sugar.
Make a habit out of meditation, concentration and focus. Don’t think that these things are only for the born geniuses. Good memory and a focused mind can also be achieved through habit. If you train yourself to meditate, concentrate and focus, you can help your brain become more functional and efficient.
Avoid getting depressed. The brain reacts to feelings of depression. Notice that your learning ability is much better when you’re in a good mood. Feed your brain happy thoughts.
