Everyday it seems that on top of everything else, we always succumb to the anxieties brought by work and our other activities. And some days are even worse. But that’s how life is and since we cannot do anything about it, we just have to take the good with the bad. And here are ways to make that mission more possible.
Start your day right. I find that if I wake up in the morning in a bad mood, it stays until the end of the day. So to avoid being all cranky before bedtime, try to wake up in a cheerful mood. How do you do this? Before you sleep at night, make sure you’ve accomplished all your work for that day so you won’t be dragging that work in the next day. Put all your things in the bag so that the next day, you’re good to go. Nothing ruins your day more than spending minutes looking for your missing wallet then getting late for work. Oh, and be sure to grab a meal before you set off to work. Hunger can make you cranky even early in the morning.
Read an inspirational book. You might find it corny, but a good book might be all you need to release the tension you’ve accumulated during the day. It’s uplifting to read other people’s stories and struggles. It’s another way of feeling that you’re not alone who suffer bad days.
Daydream if you must. You shouldn’t take for granted the importance of a 10 to 20-minute rest. Break the monotonous routine of work and just sit back and start thinking of happy and funny things. Get out of your cubicle and go outside, get some fresh air and maybe a glass of fruit shake.
Call someone you love. Work becomes more exhausting when you forget that you’re doing it for your family. So call your wife, exchange a few cute words and get back to work with a more positive disposition.
