Parent and Child

As a parent, you have a very direct effect on your children’s future choices. You pass on to them virtues of determination, hard work, purpose, and persistence in your everyday co-existence. Sure you can play the nature vs. nurture card but how you treat your child today, whether consciously or not, will play a big part in their success as professionals when they come of age. Parents play a key role in their kids’ career life, so make sure you direct them to the path of success.

Your children are dependent on what you provide for them and what you have provided them will serve as their foundation. If you have enrolled your kid in premiere educational institutions, for example, your child is bound to have more edge training-wise when he or she competes with other young professionals.

Your reactions to their achievements and how you support their goals also fuel their drive. Children are bound to learn the politics between working hard and getting what you want and being lazy and end up miserable if you punish them sufficiently and appropriately for their errors and reward them for their victories no matter how small. If your expectations are clear to your children and you justly impose these on them, they will always strive for excellence and avoid mediocrity.

Your children’s perception of your own success is also very critical. Let your own rags to riches story of how you arrived at your own success inspire your young ones that they can also be successful, just like you!
