Thinking about quitting your job? Interested about searching for greener pastures? I hear you. Most of us come to a point where we daydream about submitting our resignation papers and our bosses will beg us to come back. But when in reality, none of your applications ever call back, it seems like you’re stuck with your job for good. How does one cope with this realization?

You might think it a joke, but if this happens to you, one thing you can do to improve the situation is to make mental adjustments. And that means forcing yourself to be passionate about work again.

Remember the first time you sat in your cubicle? That was the day you were grateful that you were hired. Ever since that sweet day, you were able to pay your rent on time, and you never had to borrow money from your friends.

Improve your relationships with your colleagues. One of the things that give the office a negative aura is a bad relationship with the people you work with. If you have a good working environment, you’re more likely to coordinate with your team, thus, making your work easier and less stressful.

Be proactive and interactive. When you find yourself bored with the routine tasks, find something more productive to do. Plan projects, follow up pending processes, and give yourself new tasks. Don’t rely on the load your boss gives you but instead, have the initiative to make your work more rewarding.

Have a new goal. Aim for a higher position. You might be dissatisfied when you’re always doing what you’re doing. So work your way up to the top so that you’ll always be excited about getting ahead.
