
All of us feel overworked at some point. And when this happens, we’re lucky if we don’t get sick. Our body can only do so much work and handle only so much pressure.6When you find yourself getting highly tense, use the following ways to help yourself calm down. These will give you a doze of comfort when you need it. Here are some tips to help you wind down for the holidays.
Know the foods which are known to soothe. Some nuts are known to replace stress-depleted B vitamins and enhance your mood. Among the nuts famous for giving comfort include walnuts, Brazil nuts, and almonds. Berries are also popular as comfort fruits.
Tune out the outside noise with your iPod tunes. If your immediate environment is causing your stress and the people near you just don’t stop yapping, get your iPod and tune out unwanted noises.
Buy a stress ball. You know those squishy toys which you can squeeze as hard as you want? Buy one. Squeeze it until you have reduced your anger and tension.
Don’t talk to people you hate. Avoid talking to people who irritate you to prevent saying things you might regret later. When you’re angered, it’s better to wait until you’re calm enough, then you can entertain a confrontation.
Call someone you love. Hearing the voice of your husband or your kids will improve your mood a great deal.
