Having a baby means you have to adjust certain things in your life. Not only with how you go about your routine but also, your space. Baby’s safety is paramount. You don’t want to have any freak accidents just because you forgot to do something simple, right?
When you get inside the car, secure your baby in the baby car seat before you speed on. Some babies are naughty and restless inside cars. To make sure your kid stays behaved, give him something to eat or something to play with so you can focus on driving safely.
Every time you take your baby out of your house, there’s always that fear if the outdoors is safe for your baby. With a few adjustments, you can make sure that your baby is well protected outside your own home.
When you’re sleeping in someone else’s house, the facilities are different and you probably have a lot of adjustments to do. First of all, if you can, bring your baby proof kit so you you’re always prepared.
If you’re in a building, in a hotel, know where the escape routes are and the emergency exits so you’ll know where to run your baby for safety.
For your toddlers who are already running loose the moment you turn your back, it’s important that you make sure that the area has no sharp corners and dangerous bumps or holes, electrical outlets which are not properly kept, and slippery floors. Hold your baby especially when you’re in higher floors where there’s a possibility of him falling down the stairs.
When dining, you can make sure your baby is secured with the baby chair’s strap. Keep knives, forks and other sharp objects from the reach of your baby. You might want to keep out of his reach the small objects which they might swallow.
Keep all bottles out of baby’s reach. While medication bottles are child-proofed these days, some of the bottles for typical household concoctions aren’t. It’s still easy for them to play around with bottles of shampoo or lotion. Keep these things out of their reach.
