Rekindling your romance is not as easy as switching buttons. When a couple starts to drift apart, putting back together the pieces needs a lot of effort. One of the most effective ways to bring back that lovin’ feeling is to go on a romantic getaway, with just the two of you. Here are five very good suggestions to help you with this idea.
Don’t backpack. Backpacking is popular nowadays, but it’s probably not the best option for couples who are looking for quality time. The spontaneity of backpacking might bring a lot of conflicts and more fights. Whereas, if the trip is already planned, you’re bound to be more relaxed and inspired—and not likely to fight.
Get the honeymoon suite. Treat your getaway as a second honeymoon. Get the best room and the best romantic package for both of you. And why not? The result is worth the extra cost. Your marriage deserves the best luxury, especially if it’s only once in a while.
When you’re in your suite, spend your time talking, sorting out your differences, and making future plans—not watching TV. Putting an end to conflicts and resolving to make changes to adjust to each other will make it easier for you both to get closer. As much as possible, start discussing your problems on Day 1 so you can just spend the rest of the week getting closer and more comfortable with each other.
Turn off your phones, especially at night. When you’re on a romantic vacation, don’t take your work with you. It’s going to ruin everything. Turn it off if you’re not expecting any important messages. Or you can leave it on for emergencies, but make sure to only use it for that purpose.
Get drunk. Call for room service and order a bottle of their finest wine. Getting tipsy could be exactly what you need to loosen up and be more open to each other. Besides, alcohol can do a bit more than just get you to be talkative. It can also lead to your best sex ever.
