I agree that ideas need to be developed and not left to rot if they are feasible and beneficial. I myself suffer from "Idea Generation Syndrome" (IGS)-I coined it!. I generate new ideas almost every 30 minutes, and write them down, but am afraid to share it with anybody because am always afraid they will simply steal the idea and off they go (It has happened to me before). In my country, patent rights and Intellectual property rights laws and policies are weak. So anyone's new idea is bound to be developed by another who then takes all the benefits from it. "Ideas are not for Sale" remember?-so by discussing with a group of intellectuals, you may be giving them a free lifetime benefit-while you stay down-Think about it!!. I would say the best way to develop your idea is to do enough research about it without revealing every detail and when you really feel you are ready to develop it, you can organise some funding either by yourself or with afew intelligent people you trust. This is what I have learned through past experience.
