Thinking of passwords can be a pain in the arse especially with all the conditions that web services are looking for nowadays just to make them a lot more secure. I know some people who get frustrated when they can’t use dictionary words (which is, to be fair to web services, a bad way of choosing passwords) anymore. Having a mix of alphanumeric characters and cases can be a challenge to memorize especially for those who are experiencing senior moments.
Here’s a web tool that helps you generate relatively secure passwords. Password Chart offers a simple two-step process for you to generate secure passwords. First is you have to provide a phrase to generate a password chart (if you’ve read/watched The Da Vinci Code or National Treasure - a key that unlocks the cipher). And next, you have to provide a password that it will convert using the password chart.
Since you can simply use easy-to-remember dictionary words to use for them, you don’t have to remember an unintelligible hash. You can even just print out the password chart to help you decode/encode your password again.
The tool runs on JavaScript so no information is actually sent and stored.
