Being a stay-at-home can be tough. Most mothers who opt to take care of her family and her family’s needs instead of making a career outside the home tend to wonder if there is still life outside the abode. Here are some ideas to help the mommies out there on how to add more to their resume without leaving the home.
Crafts. Make gift baskets. This can be a full-time endeavor or even a seasonal one. Create and sell gift baskets when special holidays come such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter, Graduation, and Christmas. For year-round gift items there are always baby showers, weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries. You may start selling them to your friends, relatives, and neighbors during community or church sales. If you are computer savvy, you may also try to sell your items on online sites such as E-bay.
Conduct online workshops. So you were high-power advertising executive up to the early years of your marriage. But now that all the kids are in school, you find yourself having a bit of time in your hands. So you keep yourself busy, keeping in touch with trends by reading materials online. You find out that you have still retained enough of the know-how but have lost the interest to do actual work. Why waste your obvious expertise of the field? Write an e-book and sell it online! Create a website or have it made, advertising yourself. Act as a consultant, and meet with clients online or through the phone. Offer online seminars and workshops. You’ll find out what a savvy Mom you’ve become!
Consult. If you have expertise in a particular field or you have a marketable skill, then you can make money from teaching others what you know. You can make money by creating and selling an ebook or ecourse. You can hold online workshops and webcasts. Or you can have workshops and conferences offline at a your local civic center, library, your home, or another venue.
