Going over real estate advice on the Internet, it seems the majority says it’s a good time to buy a home these days with the market prices down and all. Not to mention the tax incentives for new home buyers. But if you were buying a new home, you’d have to know all the details so you can avoid what’s called the “buyer’s remorse” – the guilt and regret feeling after the purchase. So how can you avoid regretting what you buy?
Don’t shell out anything until you’re convinced that it’s a good deal. These days you can’t trust agents and brokers that easy so it’s better to make sure that the license to sell is valid, that the property is indeed up for legal selling and that the developer or the person you’re buying it from is reputable and authorized.
You can start by calling up the agencies that give the company/person the authority or license to sell. Look up other properties on sale within your target price, and choose the best deal.
It’s hard to be serious about getting your own home if your mortgage is not yet approved. Make sure you get an approval first before proceeding to the next step.
Call up lawyer friends. Let’s not sign the contract if your lawyer hasn’t reviewed it yet. You need to make sure that nothing is overlooked.
