Fall Fashion

Being a fashion designer is a very fun job. But it takes more than just raw talent and passion for fashion. Knowing what is fashionable from what’s not is not enough. To be one, you’d have to have more than an eye for detail and design.

Sharpen your skills. Enroll in a fashion design course. Look up good fashion schools and take up design courses. Even if you have already found your personal style, you can enrich your skills and be better at making sketches so that you will be able to show samples of your work.

Be in the know. Always be in the loop for what’s hot and what’s not in the fashion world. It’s important so you can monitor the evolving styles of the bigwigs in the industry.

Work on a portfolio. Every time an inspired work is sketched on paper, file it in your portfolio so you can have a record of all your soon-to-be great works.

Get in internship. You’ll learn a lot of things, not just about design, but how to survive in the industry. If you want to make it on top you have to learn how to excel in a highly competitive field.

Try to get there fast. Join fashion competitions such as Project Runway. Who knows, you could be the next top designer!
