Working out is fine. It’s actually great. But before you happily skip off to gym land, make sure that you don’t forget the following:
Warming Up and Cooling Down. You experiencing cramps while working out? Maybe you also complain about tight knotted muscles after going to the gym? Perhaps you haven’t warmed up or cooled down enough. These may be insignifcant but the ten minutes you’ll spend warming up before a work out will make sure that your body is ready for the hard work. Another ten minutes for cooling down after a work out will help ease the muscles that tensed during your work out. It will also help return your heart rate to normal.
Do It Right. Don’t rush your workout. It’s not the number of reps you do, but how you do it. Make sure you maintain the correct posture and that you are performing the routine correctly. Even if you finish 100 reps but if you are doing it incorrectly, all your hardwork will come to naught,
Moderation is the Key. Too little workout will render your efforts useless. Too much workout will be too hard on your body. Instead of making it fit, you’ll just make it worse. Don’t exhaust yourself. Stick to the regimen.
Spice it Up. Don’t get stuck in the same exercise routine. You’ll get bored (unless you really like doing things over and over again). Throw in a different class once in a while. Aside from the variety, you’ll also be able to work on different muscle groups.
Hydrate. The last thing you would want is to faint in dehydration. So don’t forget to drink plenty of fluid when exercising.
