Focusing on a Task
Focusing on a task can be difficult especially if you have a lot of things going on in your mind. But if you are determined to be able to get everything sorted out and done, here are some tips to help you do exactly that:
First things first, stop whatever it is that you are doing. Grab a piece of paper and a pen. Find a place to sit where there is no distraction. Take a deep breathed and think about the tasks you want to accomplish. Make a list according to their priority. In the future, you can make a list before leaving work for the following day, or in the morning as the first thing you do when you come in to work.
Don’t forget to give yourself realistic deadlines. Consider your resources and the difficulty of the task. Set a deadline that you think is very workable. This way you can expect a better flow of work routine, giving you enough time to finish the task without stressing over it. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
Work on those tasks according to the order in your list. Focus on the task at hand and try not to think about anything else. You’ll find out that this will help you work faster. Better than doing everything all at once and finish nothing.
