Yawning Baby

Congratulations on the new baby! Returning to yo work can be a daunting idea for the new moms who need to go back to work after a few months of maternity leave. Separation anxiety is only one hurdle mommy has to pass before she can be fully ready for work. Here are some ways on how to cope through this transition:

Consider having a childcare provider. You won’t be able to function well at work if your mind is constantly on your child. However if you find a good arrangement, especially with a childcare provider whom you can trust, then you’ll be able to perform well – both as career woman and as a mom.

If you are considering child care, make sure that you acquire one at least one week before your scheduled return to work. This way, you’ll be able get to know the childcare provider better. You’ll also be able to establish a routine that will work for both of you.

Do as much cleaning and repairing of the house before you go to work. It will be a little difficult to keep your house organized once you are busy with work. Stock your fridge with food and buy most of the groceries. Don’t forget to buy some easy cook meals. Although this is unhealthy for everyday meals, at least they can tide you over on those days when you will be too busy that you can hardly feel your feet touch the ground.

Pamper yourself.
Get a new hairstyle and have your nails done. Shop for new clothes. Have a relaxing massage. If you feel better on your re-entry to work, you’ll also feel confident in doing all the things you need to do both at work and at home.
