It’s very hard to get pleased with yourself and feel that sense of pride. As long as you’re always surrounded by people whose job is to criticize the things you’re doing, feeling good will feel like a struggle and a challenge. But don’t let them get their way with you. Grab your pompoms and cheer yourself on.

Rant. The problem with ranting is that it can either rid you of the negative feelings or it can aggravate it. When ranting, give yourself a few minutes to let all hell loose but make sure that afterwards, you don’t have any of it left.

Forget the past by always looking forward. You’re not the only one who has a portfolio of major foul-ups. Get over it.

Filter criticism. If you listen to every person’s bad comments about you, it would be impossible to be happy. There are just some things about you which you can’t change. People are just gonna have to deal with that.

Don’t lose your sense of wonder. If you stop getting feelings of wonderment, your day will start feeling dull and then you’ve got nothing to look forward to. Inspiration comes to those who are in a good mood.
