Cleaning kitchen or bathroom tiles can sometimes be a pain. But not anymore with these tips on how to keep those grout stains away:

The old adage is still true with tiles – prevention is better than cure. So if you’re having tiles installed in your bathroom or kitchen, make sure that the tiling is sealed very well.  If you hire a contractor, you can mention this to them.

To minimize staining, make it a household rule to wipe feet carefully before walking on tile floors or better yet, have a no-shoes rule. You may also want to clean up spills like cola, cranberry juice, and chocolate sauce immediately.

When cleaning light colored tiles, you can use an old toothbrush and a tube of those old-fashioned extra whitening toothpastes. Scrub between the tiles, letting the toothpaste foam up before wiping it off with a soft cloth or an old towel. You can now mop your tile floor with clear water. For darker colored tiles, you can also try the toothpaste but test it first. If the color does not fade or change, you may proceed as usual.

Aside from toothpaste, you can also use baking soda or vinegar.
