There’s just so much to know when you’re a new parent. But there’s no reason to worry if you know how to be prepared.
Know where the nearest reputable hospital is. Drive to that hospital and see how long it takes you to get there. That way you’ll know if it’s accessible on emergencies or not.
Keep all your baby’s medical records so that you can easily have them all when you need them.
Print out copies of emergency phone numbers. Post one at home and keep another one with you so you have these important phone numbers even if you’re at work.
Learn infant CPR. Knowing this simple procedure is worth it. You don’t know when you’ll have to perform one.
Seek a pediatrician you can trust and keep his mobile number on your phone. Even if random doctors will attend to your baby in the case of an emergency, you can call him for additional help.
Have an emergency bag with all the stuff you need. Gather some supplies good for at least one day and put them all in one bag so you can just grab and go.
Prepare your savings. Make sure you’re saving up for health care. Hospital bills can be costly so it’s better to have the finances always at the ready.
