Yes, it’s tough to be alone on Valentine’s Day, but it’s not the end of the world. You don’t have to have a date to celebrate love because you can have fun alone.
Don’t watch a romantic movie anytime near Valentine’s. The last thing you need is a movie which will make you feel miserable for the rest of the month. If you must watch movies, go for girl power flicks such as Tomb Raider, Charlie’s Angels, and Catwoman.
Buy yourself a gift. Just because there’s no special guy this year doesn’t mean you won’t get flowers, chocolates, or perfumes. You’re an independent woman who can buy anything she fancies–go shopping. Buy yourself something special.
Go on a vacation. Take time off work and go out of town for a few days. Make sure you bring your best outfits.
Don’t be affected by people asking you annoying questions. People might ask you why you don’t have a date. Tip: don’t tell them. Ask why they want to know, smile, and walk away casually.
Don’t do any heavy chores tonight. Don’t spend the night doing your laundry or scrubbing the walls. If you wanted you can even go out on your own, eat a nice dinner, and enjoy the night air.
Visit a friend who might be alone too. Your friend may not be as cool with being dateless as you are. Check how she’s doing and maybe you can cheer her up.
Look up special events happening on V-day. There are several concerts across the city which you might be interested in.
Fight the urge to call your ex. There is no way you’re calling your ex on Valentine’s because what you’re feeling is only temporary depression. Wait until the next day before you hook up with anyone.
