Everyone can have a head of shiny, healthy hair. And it doesn’t have to take a lot of expensive treatments or products to achieve it either. It’s just a matter of patience and these few tips:
Dust and smoke gives hair a dull color, and not mention a bad odor. Wash your hair regularly to keep it clean. Do not pile up your hair on top of your head before as it will only introduce tangles. Instead, comb it until it’s tangle free.
When washing, apply shampoo to your scalp and work it gently towards the ends. Rinse carefully until the suds have been all washed away. Next, gently squeeze excess water off. Use conditioner. If you have time, leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing it off completely.
If you are not in a hurry, towel dry instead of using a hair dryer. Use a large-and-wide-toothed comb.
Avoid using harsh chemicals on your hair. Peroxide, perms and chlorine will make your hair dry. If you need to color your hair, there are products that do not contain peroxide available in the market.
Have the edges of your hair trimmed every six to eight weeks so that the damage won’t work up to the rest of your hair.
Nutrition plays a big factor in the state of your body. Foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids such as tuna, salmon, and flaxseed are found to be good for the hair. But try to keep a well-balanced diet in general.
