Start the year right with a clean slate which is why I paid all of my credit card dues just last December. Among the most important things you have to clear out are your debts. They are long overdue and you have to stop ignoring them and actually start paying up. I’ve heard it said that one of the worst things a person can worry about is money, and boy, ain’t it true! Paying off all your debt mainly requires money, but it’s not all you need. You’ll also need a change in attitude.
Boost your self-esteem. Having a lot of debt can make a person feel depressed and weary. While it’s understandable to be affected by finances, don’t allow yourself to be completely hopeless. Remind yourself that this is not the first time you will face such a big endeavor. This too can be resolved.
Everyone has debts every now and then. Having a debt is one of the most common problems, so don’t think you’re the only one suffering from such a crisis. If this is your first time to have a debt problem, seek advice from people who have experienced paying off debts successfully. You can ask your parents, other members of the family and your friends. You can even find a lot of tips on it online!
From now on, be smart about your spending. Saving can pay off your debts. So if you just make some sacrifices on other departments (such as your smoking, snacks, groceries, movie house visits, and the likes), you can definitely save up a chunk which can help you settle parts of your burden.
Figure out your financial strengths and weaknesses regarding your finances. If you know yourself to be careless with money, then your partner should be good with his finances. You should be a team that can balance each other’s money matters so that you can secure your future.
Plan. Identify which are the most critical debts to pay off. If you’re in credit card hell. Pay off the ones with smaller debts then get rid of them. You only need one. Then work your way to scheduling how you can pay off larger debts the quickest way possible without depriving yourself of cash on hand and emergency cash.
