Date

More first date tips for the gentlemen:

Plan it. Especially since this is the first date. Being spontaneous is fine, but let’s leave that until you’ve already known your date better. If you feel that an evening date to a movie and dinner afterwards is too conventional for your taste, then by all means make it an afternoon at the beach. But whatever you do, just make sure that you’ve thought several things out beforehand such as your itinerary. Just be flexible for sudden changes, but it is always better to have a plan (or plans) ready just in case.

Dress it up. Look your best – and that is neat and presentable. You don’t have to be in your Sunday best (you can even go in a pair of jeans and a shirt), but make sure that your clothes are clean and pressed (if they should be), your hair combed or styled, and your shoes should be clean and/or polished. But the most important thing here is that you’re wearing something in which you are comfortable.

Be punctual. It is not only good manners, but being punctual says that you are quite the responsible male and that you take appointments and commitments seriously. You’re stating that she is worth your time.

Good manners is good conduct. Speaking of manners, you’ll get a favorable impression if you act quite the gentleman. Women, even during these modern times, still “swoon” at “knights in shining armors.” You don’t have to slay a dragon for your date, but at least open the door for her or give her your jacket when it gets a bit cold.

Chill it. Be yourself and relax. If you become too stressed, your date will be able to tell and will then make it uncomfortable for her. Keep it light and fun. Your date wouldn’t want to hear how stupid your boss is. Again,  don’t be too comfortable in your own skin. It wouldn’t do you good if you get arrested for intoxication on the first date.
