Blood Stain

Agh! Got bloodstain on your favorite shirt? Don’t panic. Here are some effective and relatively costless way of removing blood stains from clothes:

Do not wait until the blood has dried up. It will be a lot more difficult to remove once the blood has seeped in through the thread. Wash with cold water as soon as possible upon contact. If the blood has dried up, soak the cloth in cold water mixed with a tablespoon of salt overnight. Rub with liquid detergent in the morning.

Before you try any of the other stuff we listed below, make sure that you check the material of the cloth. Too strong chemicals might damage the material so be very careful before you try out anything.

Baking soda is a good blood stain remover. Just take a small amount of baking soda and sprinkle it on the blood stain an hour before washing. Repeat this three more times, every fifteen minutes. Rinse with water and wash as usual.

Shampoo is also a good stain remover. Again, rinse the stained part in cold water. Rub the spot with a few drops of shampoo. In no time, the stain will be gone.

For small spots, try hydrogen peroxide. Mix a solution of water and hydrogen peroxide in a basin. Dip the cloth in the solution and let it sit for a while. Go back to it after a few hours and the blood stain will disappear.
