Do your clothes stink of heavily of smoke? Sometimes the smoke smell still lingers on fabric after it has been washed. You might want to get rid of the smell first before you put them in the washer.

The first thing you do is to hang your clothes out for most of the day or overnight. You’ll find out a few hours after that most of the smell will be gone.

Wash your clothes as you normally would. If the clothes are new, don’t forget to check the label for additional washing instructions.

After the washing is done, include some dyer sheets with the clothes when you place them in the dryer. If the smell still lingers, hang clothes out in the open to let the air carry the smell away.
