Want to save money during the weekends and there is no work? Here are some suggestions on how to keep the budget light while enjoying a much-deserved break from a busy week:

Always set a fixed amount that you can spend every time you go out during the weekends. This way, you won’t spend your hard-earned money on unnecessary expenses. Compute how much you will need for gas or transportation (although this is optional. You can always find entertainment near the home), for a satisfying meal and a drink, ticket or tickets if you’re going to an event, and keep a little something for emergencies. Try to stay within the budget, but by all means spend it.

Go to a lounge, club, or bar where they don’t have cover charge.

Find free entertainment. You can always check your local newspaper or community billboard. Lots of cities offer free film showing, exhibits, concerts, etc.

Don’t be afraid to use dinner coupons. You can also check restaurant dinner specials when food establishments offer discounted meals.

You don’t even have to go out. You can simply rent a movie, pop your own popcorn or order a pizza and have a movie night in instead.

If you really wish to stretch those deskjob limbs during the weekend, why not visit a local park or pier and take a leisurely walk? Bring your partner with you and stay until early evening so you can watch the sunset or the stars appear in the night sky.
