Phone

Here are some suggestions on keeping your phone bills low and manageable -even if you have teenagers in the house.

Impose a limit (quantity and time) to the calls your teenagers can make or have. Either that or have them pay part of the cost. If they have cell phones, let them pay for their monthly bills. This will teach them the value of money too.

If you are going to make a call, use the land-line instead of your mobile phone. This is much cheaper for land-line to land-line calls. If you have internet, you can always chat or e-mail instead.

Most telecommunication companies have phone-and-broadband-Internet-in-one packages. They let you pay a fixed amount for both phone and Internet costs.

Keep yourself updated on your phone company’s discount promotions. This is beneficial to those who often use the phone for long distance calls.

Keep conversations short. If you’re making inquiries or official calls, make sure that you already know what you are going to say or ask so you won’t waste precious minutes fumbling your way through.
