Twitter folks who have Mac OS X will be pleased to know about Nambu, which is a new desktop client that offers an interface for Twitter that is similar to Apple’s Mail client.

Nambu gives its users three choices on how to view messages. One is similar to Mail which you have your contacts, groups, saved searches and life in a left-hand column. Another is much like the Twitter website which opts for a single column river. The third choice is like the TweetDeck client which has multi-columns.

According to reviews, Nambu is able to put in features found in its competitors plus adding more of its own such as support for multiple Twitter accounts, threaded conversations, and the ability to isolate tweets with links.

Unfortunately, it still is in beta form so Nambu developers still have to wrestle with some bugs in the program. Reviewers though still found Nambu to be superior when it comes to other Mac Twitter clients. Nambu also has a free companion iPhone application.
