Here are some tips for teenagers or students who are still in school and plan to work part-time.
Be realistic. With very little experience, you are limited to particular jobs. Don’t get frustrated. Simply list down your skills and work experiences and match them with job ads and other prospects.
Remember that this won’t be for long. As you build and develop more skills, the more your chance to get a better job later on.
Type your resume. Make it simple, direct to the point, organized, and neat. Check for spelling and grammar errors. Focus on your skills and your experiences. Be honest and remember that you should be able to back-up any fact you put in there with tangible proof.
Don’t just look for printed ads. You may look in the internet or phone and drop by the locations themselves. You can even ask help from friends.
Look presentable. You don’t have to wear a suit, but make sure that you wear something neat, and tidy.
