Just a little checklist for men who are a little lost when it comes to building a wardrobe suitable for office wear:

Clothes
You should have business shirts, and business trousers. Choose those in classic solid colors so you can mix and match.  Five of each should get you through the week without washing. Choose ties that would compliment your shirts. Have at least one suit just in case you may be called to wear one for special occassions. Have polo shirts and slacks or dark denim jeans for casual fridays.

Accessories
A professional watch which can be metal or leather would look better than a plastic sports watch. A dark leather portfolio or lap-top bag or briefcase are classy and professional. Buy plain black socks which match your business shoes. A classic black leather belt with a small or medium-sized buckle is understated and professional – perfect for the office.

Shoes
You can have two kinds of shoes for work – black dress shoes, preferable leather, for day-to-day wear, and a pair of suede loafers for casual fridays.
