If people have been telling you that you should diss the candies and all sweets so your teeth remain strong and white, you can tell them that not all sweets pose a threat to teeth.

Do you like dates? Dates are rich in fluorine, which means they make your tooth enamel stronger. Plus, they fight off the plaque. If you don’t like dates, you can go for raisins because they’re just as tooth-friendly. It also has phytochemicals which fights off the bacteria.

Who knew Gummi Bears (those with xylitol) are actually good for the teeth? The bears we ate as kids didn’t have xylitol, but ever since this wonderful discovery, gummies with xylitol are said to be available real soon! Meanwhile, in the absence of these yum bears, you can chew on xylitol-based gums and other xylitol-based candies.

Drink milk. Aside from the benefits your body gets from the calcium, your tooth enamel can also enjoy the milk advantage. While not exactly sweet, milk is a really tasty drink. If you’re not a fan of milk, go for fruits.

Nothing beats brushing, of course. So even though you’re eating those candies that are good for the teeth it’s still important that you brush your teeth and floss regularly.
