Office Scenario

We are all humans who make mistakes. But if our co-workers do it often enough that it disrupts your own work, or it affects the quality of your overall work (specially if you work in a team), then some form of intervention should be taken.

First, try to address the situation with the person involved. They may not be aware that what they are doing is wrong. Try to coach and mentor so that they may correct their mistakes and never do them again.

However, if things just keep on occuring, then it is now time to go to the higher ups. Be sure to be professional about it. Avoid personal remarks. Give details and always back whatever you say with proof.

A warning though. Make sure that you try to resolve the issue on your level first. Your supervisor would only be irked if you go to them for every minor mistake. And then, be sure that the quality of your work is up at par.  A pot cannot just call a kettle black in this instance.

If you think you are in the right, then stand up for your belief, however, be prepared that not everyone will agree with you. Others might take sides and not necessarily yours.
