Going to a traiditonal school isn’t for everyone. Some kids might fare off better in a homeschool envronment. If you ever decide to have your kids do home-school instead, here are some factors that you might want to consider:
Find out the homeschool laws for your state. You can go to the website of the Home School Legal Defense Association (http://www.hslda.org). It does not only contain legal information about homeschooling, you can also look for homeschool organizations in your area.
Once you’ve found out how to legally home school your child, you can now proceed to select the best curriculum that would his or her needs. You can check online or you can buy them from bookstores or you can go directly to publishers. Take your time when choosing a curriculum. See if it’s really doable and if you would need a lot of resources if you decide to use a particular one.
Are you really ready to give support to your kids once they start homeschooling? Who would be the primary educator? Would it be the Mom or the Dad? Who else are willing to take on the endeavour? The older kids can also teach the younger ones. You don’t have to do it alone.
