The library is such a place where silence is best observed. To avoid having the librarian ban you from entering your school, or any public library, here are some stuff that you need to remember:

Find out where the books or materials you want to read or browse are located. You can use the public computer terminals in the library where you can access their electronic database. You can also ask help from the librarian if you are unsure how to use this.

Once you know the bookshelf or section where you want to go, go there directly. Roaming around may disturb other users.

Avoid having discussions in the library. Do not hang out with your friends in the library. There are other places where you can do this. If you cannot avoid talking, do so in a low voice.

Eating and drinking are definitely a no-no in the library. Aside from the noise it might make, and people’s tendency to litter, food and drinks might make the books and other reading materials dirty. In worst case scenarios, a spilled drink can even damage books.

With that said, always handle books with care.
