Creating Your Own Lipgloss
Homemade lip gloss is not difficult to do. For those who have sensitive skin and are prone to allergies from commercial cosmetics, this can be a great alternative.
You will need the following:
- 1/4 cup of beeswax
- 1/4 cup of castor oil (which you can buy from the drugstore)
- 2 tablespoons of sesame oil (which you can buy from the grocery)
- red beet juice (for color)
- double boiler
Place double boiler over low heat.
Melt beeswax using the top part of the double boiler.
Once melted, remove beeswax from the heat and add the oils.
Add as much beet juice as you want for color. The more beets, the deeper the color.
Mix well using a wooden spoon.
Store in a clean jar. Place in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Simply transfer small portions to a purse-sized container for daily use.
