If you are on a diet that needs you to stay away from fat or fatty food, here are some tips on how to make it easier for you:
A little knowledge goes a long way. Find out which parts of meat are naturally fatty, or which natural is less in bad cholesterol.
Eat alternatives, if you can’t stay away from these food completely. Or eat less. For example, turkey bacon is lower in fat than pork.
Lean cut of meats such as turkey, white meat of chicken, seafood, and fish are good sources of meat with less the fat that you get when you have pork or beef instead.
Use a drip pan when baking, or broiling. Avoid adding oil to naturally oily food as well. Deep frying is a no-no. Try to broil, grill, boil, steam, or bake your food. If you need to fry or saute, make sure you use extra virgin olive oil, and minimally at that. If you absolutely need to fry, make sure you let the food drain oil and blot it out with a clean paper towel.
