Investing in quality work clothes is a must for anyone who works in the office – specially if you are required to wear something semi-formal or business. But what if you really don’t have much resources to build an expensive wardrobe? It’s still okay. Here are some tips on how to have your own office wear collection on a budget:
Choose classic cuts and styles. These would be versatile enough to pair with other pieces.
This is true for color. Skirts, shirts, pants, and blouses in dark or muted colors can be also worn with other pieces in any color.
Go for quality. One or two expensive and durable pieces are worthwhile in the long run as you can wear them for years.
Get a lot of scarves and accessories such as belts and necklaces. Different ties for the men are good investments too. You can mix accessories up with shirts and pants.
Shop in vintage clothing or thrift stores. There can be good (even branded) pieces that can be found in these shops. They might ask for some repairs or cleaning, but it will all be worth it.
Even if you have few pieces to start with, it would seem like you have a vast wardrobe if you simply be smart and creative in your pairing of articles of clothing and accessories.
