Spring cleaning is necessary not only to ward away evil dust and dirt. It’s also a chance to inspect your home for repairs and for putting away winter stuff.
Always bring a pen and a sheet of paper or a small notebook with you. As you go to each room, take not of any small or large repairs that you might need to take care of.
Prepare your cleaning implements. Don’t forget to prepare a ladder, old newspapers, and boxes.
Start with the ceilings. Make sure that you pay attention to the spiderwebs that have collected in the corners. Clean the lighting fixtures and replace the bulbs that are not working.
Move on to the walls and windows. Focus on the stains and don’t forget to take down coverings and curtains and make sure to wash them.
Clean closets and cabinets. Remove everything and sort out accordingly. Put away what you won’t need until next winter.
But make sure that they are clean before you store them. Throw away the trash or give away the stuff that you don’t need anymore. Label boxes properly.
Clean the furniture and other appliances as well. Again, don’t forget to change slips and covers. Wash those that need to be washed.
Do the floors last. Sweep, mop, and vacuum accordingly.
