It is never too early to teach kids language skills. Here are some tips in helping parents develop their children’s literacy and language skills.

Allow your children to exlore letters through alphabet puzzles, blocks, magnets and stamps. While you can help recite the alphabet to them, they can use these toys to reinforce what they’ve learned even while they are playing.

Instead of letting your children glued to cartoons on TV, why not buy kids’ sing-along DVDs. You can purchase them or rent them, whatever suits your resources. You can also play alphabet song cds as you do chores and your kids are awake with you in the morning.

Read books! You can borrow bedtime story books in the public library or you can buy them. Make a nightly ritual of reading books to and eventually with your kids. Not only will this help develop their language skills, but it will also develop in them a love for books and good stories.
