Medicine is said to be one of the toughest courses to take in college. Here are some tips to help the students out there who find the pace of med school grueling.
Some may argue that lectures are just a wate of time. But generally speaking, you can get a lot of information when attending lectures. Your professors can add more vital stuff to what you can only read in textbooks and papers. Don’t forget to take down notes and have them organized.
Do not procrastinate. What makes med school difficult is not the subjects themselves but the volume of information that you need to master. If you do not keep up with your readings everyday, you will find it difficult to catch up.
You can’t do without memorization in med school. To help you with this, you must need to go ove the material more than once. Scan your notes until you know the information by heart.
Working hard is well and good, but if you don’t take a break, then all your hard work will be wasted. Taking a break once in a while (read a trashy novel, play a sport, sleep, watch a movie, etc.) will give your brain a chance to pause and consolidate the information. DOn’t forget to get as much rest as you can.
