Here are the things you need to remember just in case earthquake strikes:

Stay calm and do not panic. By staying calm, you’ll be able to think clearly.

If you are in a building, do not use the elevator or run to the stairs.

Once you feel the earth start shaking, grab a soft cushion. This can be a towel, a pillow, or clothing.

Next, find a nice secure place where you have sturdy covering so you won’t get hurt by falling objects. This could be under a table. You can also stand inside the doorway. If you are with your family, stay in communication. Let them shout out where they are.

Cover your head with the soft cushion so that when the table or the bed or your “secure place” does not withstand the quake, your head can still be safe.

If you are driving, stop at a safe place that is NOT near a pole, tree, underpass, or a building.

Do not get out of your safe place when the quake stops. Wait for a minimum of ten minutes before getting out.
